John Scofield Trio

plus The Airbenders, featuring Hugh Stuckey
Australian Exclusive

Bona fide guitar hero and masterful improviser John Scofield is one of the most influential guitarists working today. His list of collaborators includes Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Charles Mingus, Mavis Staples, Pat Metheny and John Mayer. Over the four decades of his celebrated career, Scofield has come to command a spectrum of genres with rare authority. From funk and fusion to swinging jazz standards, rock-fuelled jams, lush orchestral collaborations and gritty blues, Scofield imbues each style and inspires legions with his distinctive six-string voice. The contagious camaraderie and jaw-dropping spontaneous invention between Scofield and his band Ben Street (bass) and Bill Stewart (drums) radiates from the stage in this explosive combination.

The Airbenders’ deep grooves are steeped in the jazz and blues tradition. Brainchild of Adelaide’s Mike Stewart (saxophone) and Paul White (Hammond organ), they are joined by rising star Hugh Stuckey on guitar and drummer Andrew Dickeson
