Dr Paul Svoboda (Director)
Initially studying at the School of Music, University of Queensland, and graduating in 1989 with a University Medal for outstanding achievement, Paul received his Doctorate of Musical Arts in 1994 from the Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki, Finland.
Paul is highly active as a teacher, performer and composer. His list of compositions is extensive, is in demand worldwide, and features in the latest AMEB Classical Guitar Syllabus. His music is regularly broadcast on ABC Classic FM. He works as Guitar Tutor and Head of Chamber Ensembles at Loreto College in Brisbane.
Paul is in demand as a guitar ensemble specialist, and 2019 marks his 6th year directing the Adelaide Guitar Festival Orchestra at the Adelaide Guitar Festival Winter Schools – a true highlight of his career!
Born in Sydney, guitarist Giuseppe Zangari received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying under Gregory Pikler. An Australian and Italian Government award allowed Giuseppe to undertake further study in 2006 in Milan, Italy at the Accademia Internazionale della Musica, and at the Conservatorio di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi".
Giuseppe has a keen interest in developing young guitarists to realise their full potential through comprehensive instruction in a fun and enthusiastic learning environment.
Andras Tuske is a Hungarian born classical guitarist, teacher and composer. He completed his studies in 1993 at the Elder Conservatory of Music, University of Adelaide and has participated in masterclasses with John Williams, Maximo Pujol, David Tannanbaum, Carlo Barone, Tim Kain and Isolde Schaupp.
He has given concerts in Hungary, Germany, England, Austria, Norway, Ukraine, Finland, Italy and Australia. Andras was invited to several international guitar festivals to play and to lecture on guitar teaching, including those in Darwin (Australia), Mikulov (Czech Republic), Esztergom & Encs (Hungary).
