We have a whole line-up of exciting announcements in store for Adelaide Guitar Festival 2020 , including a new approach to our Guitars In Bars program.
Guitars In Bars will continue to grow and evolve in 2020 to become an official extension of Adelaide Guitar Festival, finding new ways to integrate emerging artists across the state and provide further opportunities for artists to grow their practices.
In order to achieve this, Adelaide Guitar Festival will be collaborating with specific official venues around the city to curate performances from new, independent and emerging artists all celebrating the guitar across a myriad of genres throughout July. Artists will enjoy added support during their performances, as well as scouting exposure for potential inclusion in Adelaide Guitar Festival’s future Curated Programs, handpicked by Festival Artistic Director Slava Grigoryan.
Because of the direct arrangement with official venues, this will affect parts of the open-access element of the Guitars In Bars program. However if you would like to register your next gig or performance to be part of an open-access festival, please contact our friends at Umbrella Festival, who promote live music and events across the state in July. We will continue to work with and support open-access performance thanks to our work with Umbrella Festival and encourage all independent artists to register their events through their program.
Umbrella Festival artist and venue registrations are now open via the application below.
We have some more exciting initiatives to announce on how independent and emerging artists can be involved in Adelaide Guitar Festival so be sure to check back to our website regularly for the latest updates!
