Internationally renowned guitar virtuoso Oliver Fartach-Naini will take to the Dunstan Playhouse stage for Adelaide Guitar Festival this Saturday, July 10.

He joins an exciting line-up of local musicians who are stepping in for Melbourne Guitar Quartet and 2019 Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition winner Andrew Blanch. Both acts are no longer able to attend due to travel restrictions.

A Classical Celebration will also feature Slava and Sharon Grigoryan, Manus Noble, Mike Bevan and Alain Valodze at Adelaide Festival Centre’s Dunstan Playhouse from 4pm.

A performance by the Adelaide Guitar Festival Orchestra – consisting of Guitar Winter School students who are undertaking a classical intensive at Adelaide Festival Centre this week – will proceed as planned.

Patrons who purchased tickets to Melbourne Guitar Quartet and Andrew Blanch have already been notified of the changes to this event and will be offered a full refund on request.

Adelaide Guitar Festival Artistic Director Slava Grigoryan: “We are very fortunate to have such prestigious musicians right here in Adelaide, and it’s wonderful that our Guitar Winter School students will get to show our audiences what they’ve learned. Of course we are disappointed that Melbourne Guitar Quartet and Andrew Blanch won’t be performing at this year’s festival, and we hope to welcome them back to Adelaide Festival Centre in the future.”

Adelaide Guitar Festival 2021 runs from July 4 to 25.
