Powerhouse vocalist Liz Stringer will appear in this year’s Adelaide Guitar Festival for an intimate solo performance at Dunstan Playhouse on Friday, July 16.
With six studio albums to her name, Stringer is one of Australia’s most versatile instrumentalists. A venerated guitarist, her notoriously powerful live performances and melodically rich, story-based ballads have earned her a unique place among the top Australian songwriters of her time.
Stringer will share a double bill with acclaimed duo Hussy Hicks for a night of emotive lyricism and electrifying live music, including a support act featuring students from Adelaide Guitar Festival’s Blues & Roots Winter School.
Singer-songwriter Lecia Louise was originally set to perform with Hussy Hicks but is no longer able to attend due to travel restrictions.
Patrons who purchased tickets to Hussy Hicks and Lecia Louise have already been notified of the program change.
Adelaide Guitar Festival Artistic Director Slava Grigoryan: “We’re very excited about adding Liz Stringer to our line-up, and we’re confident that we’ll be welcoming back Lecia Louise to our festival in 2022. Our team is working hard to ensure program continuity for our audiences, so it’s great that this performance can still go ahead with as much of the original format as possible.”
Adelaide Guitar Festival 2021 runs from July 4 to 25.
