Adelaide Premiere | USA
An uplifting and ethereal slice of genuine article Americana, the Milk Carton Kids have been enthralling audiences all over the world for almost ten years, landing Grammy nominations for Best Folk Album as well as Group of the Year at the Americana Music Awards.
Building from a foundation of spectacular guitar playing and rich yet complex harmonies, the minimalistic duo transforms the most sprawling venue to an intimate roots hideaway. Now, in their Adelaide debut, the pair combine their wistful duets and startling guitar interplay with lyrics that pull at the heartstrings with melancholic revelry.
Supported by multi-instrumentalist and ‘living anachronism’ Vera Sola, whose blistering voice has been described as the ‘lost love child of Leonard Cohen & Nancy Sinatra,’ and ‘Nick Cave in the role of Staggolee’, these two acts promise a night bristling with nuance and emotion.
